TO BE ELIGIBLE TO SERVE AS A RESIDENT PHYSICIAN IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE MEDICAL CORPS, YOU MUST MEET THESE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS.

Age
The maximum age, when commissioned, is 52 years and 0 days. Processing your application can take 3 to 6 months (sometimes longer) so if you are currently age 51, you may want to expedite your application.

Citizenship
You must be a U.S. citizen.

Physical Examination
You must pass the Physical Examination.

Education
Physicians from foreign countries must have their ECFMG Certificate/Letter or 5th Pathway.

Malpractice
Having one or more malpractice claims or judgments may not disqualify you from consideration. However, each incident will be reviewed by the Army Reserve. A Physician who is currently in litigation over a malpractice claim is ineligible for consideration until the case is settled. Once settled, your application will be reviewed again
