HEALTH PROFESSIONAL LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM UPGRADED

The U.S. Army recently announced key upgrades to the Health Professional Loan Repayment Program (HPLR) for physicians, residents and specialists serving in the Army Reserve. Qualified Reservists will now be eligible for loan repayment assistance worth up to $250,000, payable in yearly installments of $40,000.

This enhanced benefit is available to residents and physicians serving in the Reserve in critical wartime specialties, including:

• General Surgery
• Orthopedic Surgery
• Preventive Medicine
• Emergency Medicine
• Family Practice
• Psychiatry
• Clinical Psychology

Payments are made directly to U.S. recognized financial or educational intuitions. To qualify, loans must be at least one year old and cannot be in default.
